Salesperson Requirements To qualify for a Salesperson real estate license in Georgia, you must: - Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of the State of Georgia, unless seeking a nonresident license
- Be a high school graduate or holder of a certification of equivalency
- Complete a 75 hour Salesperson Prelicense course and pass the school's final exam
- Pass the state real estate examination
- Obtain a Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) report also known as a criminal history report from any local sherriff's office or police department
Post-license The Georgia Real Estate Commission requires that each Salesperson successfully complete a 25-hour Postlicense course within one year if issuance of an original Salesperson license. Choose from among these in-class Postlicense courses offered throughout the year. Each course is approved by the GREC and satisfies the 25-hour Postlicense requirement. These courses can also be used as 24-hours of Continuing Education credit without taking the final examination. Broker Prelicense If you've been actively licensed as a salesperson for at least two years, you are eligible to take the Broker course to upgrade your license. To qualify for a Broker real estate license in Georgia, you must: - Be at least 21 to be licensed as a broker or associate broker. Applicants may take the broker's examination at age 20, but cannot activate the license until they are 21.
